When Molehills Become Mountains You Think you Cannot Climb, Remmber Everest was Conquered One Step at a Time. You Can Linger at the Bottom With Multitudes of Men, But you May Stay There Forever And Wonder What Might Have Been. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, I am the youngest of eight siblings. My father has passed away, but my parents, both everyday people and U.S. Army veterans, instilled strong values in me. I graduated from Jean Ribault Senior High School and went on to earn my bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in professional writing, graduating cum laude from Grand Canyon University. Currently, I am an Avon independent sales ambassador. I am a Christian, a proud Florida girl, and an encourager. As a millennial, blogger, sports fan, foodie, disabled woman, ambivert, and everyday woman, I embrace my multifaceted identity. I live in Jacksonville with my mom, cherishing my roots and the vibrant community that shapes me.

Clay Harrison, I really appreciate your inspirational poem, entitled, “When Molehills Become Mountains” that you would have written in July 1986 and it is very positve. Back in 1986 Clarence Carter mistakenly recorded an inappropriate bawdy song “Stroking” that tore everybody else’s holy lives apart in family crisis when nobody could find the right songs to sing; instead you would have asked me to finish writing the rest of my lyrics and finish composing my own music to your words from a former poem, “When Molehills Become Mountains” and gave it my own title, “One Step At A Time”, plus I would have recorded that positive song as pre-teen idol in November 1986 and would have gotten it released in December 1986 on Midwest Records. Anyway, here are the lyrics to a full positive song that can change their lives forever:
ONE STEP AT A TIME
Written by Laurie Maitland & Clay Harrison
If you keep your sense of humor,
You can endure the pain,
And when you reach the summit,
Your losses will be gains.
You can linger at the bottom with multitudes of men,
But you may stay there forever and wonder what might have been.
Climb every mountain, search high and low,
Ford every stream, search everywhere, both far and wide.
Follow every rainbow as you take it
Step by step until you find you dream.
Chorus:
When molehills become mountains
You think you cannot climb,
Remmber everest was conquered one step at a time.
Each time our faith is tested by mountains we must climb,
Our mountains become molehills one step at a time.
Life always offers choices
When troubles come our way,
And molehills become mountains
That will not pass away.
Follow every byway, every path you cross
As you take it one step at a time
Until you find your dream.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going,
So reach the highest peak until your dream comes true.
Repeat Chorus and then fade
