The Clock of Life

(Clock, n.d).

The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop at a late or early hour. Today, only is our own. So, live, love and toil with a will; place no faith in tomorrow, for the clock may be still. (Smith, n. d.).

The clock of life indicates the time in our lives. The clock of life is invisible. Only the Lord sees the clock in our lives, not us. Also, the clock of life works by the Lord, not us. The clock of life works only one time. We can’t go back and wound it up multiple times, and we don’t have the control to tell when the clock will stop at an early or late hour. Today is all we have. It’s the only thing we own. So, what do we do with today? Live, love, and work hard with great enthusiasm and energy. Enjoy it to the fullest. Don’t put faith into tomorrow because it is not guaranteed; that the clock may stop.

Keep moving forward,

Robin

  1. This is a great perspective, even for a non-religious person such as myself. We only have so much time, and as Rent says “Forget regret, or life is yours to miss.”
